Reduction in operating expense and zero positional emissions, are the reasons of high productivity by Normet’s battery electric SmartDrive product family. Compounding the Normet’s decades long spraying procedure experiences with the latest battery electric technology, Normet’s Spraymec 8100 VC SD tunnelling sprayer creates the state-of-the-art concrete sprayer. It uses the latest Li-Ion battery technology and charges the batteries from the same AC-socket used to power the spraying process. A remote driving system for secure and simple offset of the machine has been determined for the Spraymec 8100 VC SD, which works with the same remote control that is used for spraying.
The first battery electric sprayer in Australia
In October 2020, the Normet’s Spraymec 8100 VC SD has been surrendered to the tunnelling project in Sydney, when the unit was effectively introduced into active operation, and it was Australia’s first and only battery electric sprayer.
The introduction process and the equipment efficiency, is customer friendly up to now. Project maintenance and equipment superintendent has stated: “Based on the observations so far, in retrospect, if Smart Drive would have been available at the time of award of the equipment supply contract, the fleet would look very different today.”
Concentrating on fossil free work site by Normet’s battery electric sprayer operating in tunnelling project in Norway
The Agder Group received the Spraymec 8100 VC SD as the first battery electric sprayer, to work like a rental equipment for LNS’s tunnelling project. This project has a great focus on fossil free work site (zero emissions) and most of the cars, transfer vans and minibuses in the project are also battery driven. While this is the first battery electric sprayer in Europe, the latter one will be surrendered to same work site soon.
