On Norway’s Grenland tunnel a breakthrough has been achieved on the E18 motorway.
Following completion of excavation for the twin 5.1km-long tunnel for Lot 2, the breakthrough by Eiffage Génie Civil and contractor Metrostav Norge on the northern section marks.
As a part of the Norwegian Ministry of Transport’s E18 Langangen-Rugtvedt project, the Grenland tunnel is 17km long and includes a four-lane highway, bridges, and tunnels. Providing a bypass around the city of Porsgrunn, on the E18 highway between Oslo and Kristiansand is an advantage of this project.
Additionally presenting a design and build contracts for Lot 1 (Langangen-Lanner) and Lot 3 (Kjørholt-Rugtvedt) is also up to Eiffage. While the scheduled date for delivering Lots 1 and 3 works is mid-2025,Lot 2 is planned for completion by early 2026.
