With the aim of starting microtunnelling process for a new fuel line at Sydney Airport, Rob Carr Pty Ltd is due to construct caisson access shafts and undertake 500m of microtunnelling for the new fuel line.
While the scheduled date for commencing major works is this month, the early works are under way.
The work is the first step in activating the airport’s remote south-west apron bays, as Sydney Airport explained on LinkedIn. The tunnel will carry a new fuel line from Terminal 1 to the south-west sector.
Following completion, the fuel line is going to support upgrades to seven bays with in-ground fuel, pre-conditioned air and ground power.
Construction will continue until August 2026.
