Commissioning ROI for T2D by South Australia

Torrens to Darlington Project North South Corridor

In order to advancing the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) project, which with 10.5km length is the final and most complex section of Adelaide’s 78km North-South Corridor and the most significant infrastructure project ever undertaken in South Australia, the South Australian government is inviting Registration of Interest.

While this project includes two sets of twin three-lane tunnels, lowered and ground-level motorways, as well as overpasses and underpasses and upgrades at key intersections, over than half of the project is due to be tunnels.

The scope includes:

  • Contract No. 22C233 – T2D Main Works – the design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover of the assets delivered by the project
  • Contract No. 22C321 – T2D Maintenance and Incident Response – maintenance and incident response services post completion of any package of the Main Works for a defined term post opening completion

The 2025 is the determined date for starting main construction work, whereas the first TBM is slated be launched for the Southern Tunnel in 2026. The scheduled time for inauguration of Southern Tunnel is 2030 and the entire T2D Project will be open in 2031.

According to South Australian government’s announcement in the current month, in response to industry feedback, changes to the project design and a review of the procurement approach, an alliance contracting framework will be used.
