The 2025 Not-a-Boring Competition has beem commissioned by Elon Musk’s The Boring Company and currently registration is open for teams to take on the challenge to beat the snail.
Bastrop in Texas will host this 2025 competition, which is the fourth event to be held and will challenge competition teams over eight days.
The Boring Company will also continue to host three mini-competitions open to first-year teams that will take place during the same week as the full tunneling competition. The mini-competitions include a digging project, tunnel lining project, and navigation project.
The winner of this year’s competition, that was held from March 25-31 in Texas, was Swissloop Tunneling from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at the University of St Gallen ETH Zurich for its novel extruded tunnel liner, as the company announced on X on Monday.
Swissloop Tunneling won the innovation award in both 2021 and 2023.
