French rail exhibition introduces tunneling focus

From June 24-26, Lille will host this year’s SIFER, the International Exhibition of Railway, that is due to include a dedicated tunneling area.

This new feature will present the latest innovations in the construction and equipment of tunnels.

Gathering the entire rail ecosystem under one roof, this event is held every two years since 1999. Rolling stock manufacturers, railway operators, infrastructure developers, technology providers, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, maintenance specialists, regulatory bodies, research institutions, as well as industry innovators, are the participants of this program.

While the 2023 show welcomed a record of over 7,000 visitors to Lille Grand Palais, this year more than 300 exhibitors from 14 countries – including around 100 newcomers – will showcase their latest innovations.

The exhibition will feature indoor tracks, where vehicles and rail equipment can be viewed in live operating conditions; an Innovation Hub for start-ups; FIF Village – co-organised with the French Railway Industry Association (FIF), featuring member companies and a dedicated forum space; international B2B meetings; and a programme of conferences and technical seminars.
