By Covid-19 limitations have forced the Tunneling Association of Canada (TAC) to rebrand this year’s postponed TAC conference as ‘TAC 2020-One Toronto’, which is going to be held on October 19-21 2021. It also declared that its 2020 AGM (annual general meeting) will happen virtually on 6th November 2020 at 12.00 noon (Eastern Standard Time).
Rescheduling the TAC 2020 Toronto event means that the virtual annual general meeting will be the vehicle for proclaiming the winners of TAC’s 2020 achievement awards and scholarship. It will also see the appointment of the 2021 Board of Directors.
It has been recommended by the TAC Nominating Committee that all existing officer and director terms will be continued by one year to mitigate the effects of Covid-19 on association business and to make sure that continuity is reflected in the organization of TAC 2020-One Toronto. Previously, the mentioned proposal had gained majority support from members so will be comprised on the annual general meeting agenda for ratification.
In addition, the annual TAC awards dinner has been rescheduled for next year. The link to the meeting and full details of the changes will be circulated later this month.
