Stockholm Metro_ Typsa/Ramboll JV secure the contracts

In order to providing preliminary and detailed design for a new underground metro line in Stockholm, the winner of two of the three contracts is a Typsa/Ramboll consortium.

Stretching from Fridhemsplan to Älvsjö, the 8km-long Yellow Line is part of the national transport infrastructure development plan and is funded by the Swedish government and the municipalities in Stockholm.

The intention for metro extension project will be using Typsa and Ramboll’s experience of stations, TBMs, underground structures, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering.

Involving six stations, the new metro line is due to run through bedrock and beneath an inlet of Lake Mälaren, whereas the date of commencing two contracts will be autumn this year and will continue until completion of the line.

According to Fredrik Lilliesköld, country director Typsa in Sweden: “We are proud to continue our contribution to the sustainable growth and the urban development of Stockholm. We will bring our international experience and team of world-class TBM specialists to support Stockholm to successful completion of the Yellow Line project.”

With the aim of developing the Blue, Green, Red and Yellow metro lines,the Typsa/Ramboll consortium, in which the companies are equal partners, has previously provided services and technical expertise.
