BTS Underground Health & Safety Course has now opened its bookings for this year.
It is a two-day course which will be held at the Institution of Civil Engineers in London from November 20-21.
The course intends to deliver a broad-ranging introduction to the health and safety risks inherent in the underground environment.
In addition, it will deliver an introduction or improve the current basic knowledge and develop an awareness of the particular health and safety challenges of working underground.
As reported, it will cover various subjects comprising ground risks and mitigation; health and welfare for underground workers; occupational health programs; emergency response; compressed air use; underground safety passports; safety management and maintenance of underground machinery; electrical safety; use of explosives underground; and environmental impacts.
The course is said to be £205 for BTS members and £240 for non-members.
