Sydney Metro Station Boxes and Tunneling Works (au/11)

The contract with EUR 1.15 bn (AUD 1.8 bn), for the Sydney Metro-Western Sydney Airport Station Boxes and Tunneling Works, has been awarded by the New South Wales Government to the Joint Venture Ghella and CIMIC Group’s CPB Contractors. The WSA-SBT contract includes the design and construction of 9.8 km twin tunnels and excavations for 6 stations at St Marys, Orchard Hills, Luddenham, Airport Business Park, Airport Terminal, and Aerotropolis on the 23 km metro railway running from St Mary’s through to the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the Western Sydney Aerotropolis.

The determined date for commencing major work is the next months for site establishment and preparatory works for tunneling to get underway in early 2023.
