Jacobs appointed as design consultant for CRL 1

The selected design consultant for the design and construction of the Tavistock Station and tunnels on Singapore’s Cross Island Line Phase 1 (CRL 1), is Jacobs.

Covering the design and construction of the TBM launch shaft, underground station, bored tunnels, and associated building services, this contract, is valued at around US$302m.

In order to provide civil, structural, and architectural design services and maintain critical oversight through to the construction of the project, Jacobs is going to work with Sato Kogyo, which was granted the contract by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority.

As Singapore’s eighth mass rapid transport line, the CRL is due to be 29km long and features 12 stations. It will serve existing and future developments in the east, north-east, and west, linking major hubs such as Jurong Lake District, Punggol Digital District, and Changi region. While the determined date for starting this project’s services is 2030, the total cost is S$861m ($US640.51m).
