On 28 June 2022, the Changsha’s east-west metro Line 6, which is stretching 48·1 km from Huanghua Airport to Xiejiaqiao with 34 stations including seven interchanges, was opened.
Commencing its construction process in December 2016, inaugurating the Line 6 takes the metro to 190·7 km and 127 stations.
The benefited vehicles for Line 6 are six-car Type A trains, which have been supplied by CRRC Zhuzhou and their design speed is 90 km/h, although the operating speed is 80 km/h. Being equipped with wireless charging points for phones, the trains have a capacity of 2 592 passengers.
The determined time for the intended line’s services is between 06.30 and 23.00, with an end-to-end journey time of 82 min and minimum headways of 4 min 52 sec.
