In July 2023 the BTS Tunnel Design and Construction Course at the University of Warwick will welcome Young consulting engineers, construction engineers, client organizations and the financial as well as insurance sectors.
Providing an introduction to all aspects of tunneling in a range of ground conditions, covering the major features of a project’s life, from contracts and procurement to drill and blast, TBMs, linings and waterproofing, this course is going to be a week-long from July 3-7. It will feature worked examples and workshop sessions.
A wide range of professional services that support the tunneling industry, including clients, tunnel operators and members of the financial and insurance sectors that may have a vested interest in tunneling enterprises, as well as young tunnel design and construction engineers, are the targets of this event.
The annual course is acknowledged within the industry as providing the highest standard of technical content, with industry best practice presented by leading experts in the various technically challenging fields of tunneling technology.
The social elements, with sports sessions, a barbecue and a course dinner, are also contents of this event, whereas all delegates are due to receive a CPD certificate.
A one-year Tunneling MSc, which is supported by the BTS is going to be relaunch by the University of Warwick, while the Tunnel Design and Construction Course will include further news and an introduction to this on July 4.
