HS2’s construction partner for the West Midlands, BBV (Balfour Beatty VINCI), has revealed that it has hundreds of new jobs to fill across its supply chain.

With local job vacancies including apprenticeships, site operatives, and office-based support roles, Balfour Beatty VINCI is encouraging residents to step forward and consider a career in construction.

The occasions will be publicized at BBV’s jobs fair, which will be held on Wednesday, 17 November at the Free last Youth and Community Centre in Nechells, Birmingham. The event will begin at 09:30 and ends at 14:00.

BBV and its suppliers are extremely eager to hear from people who are out of work or searching to develop their skills, as free training opportunities are also available.

Shilpi Akbar, Head of Stakeholders and Communities at Balfour Beatty VINCI said: “As well as finding out about all our latest vacancies, we’ll be sharing details of the free training and support available to help candidates to get ‘job-ready’ for HS2.”

She also added: “With a ten-year construction program ahead of us, there’s never been a more exciting or rewarding time to get on board and discover what a career in construction can offer.”

BBV, from its new Skills Academy in Bordesley Green, is going to be delivered free construction skills training courses that provide nationally recognized accreditation. The courses are tailored to meet everyone’s needs and cater to those with or without former industry experience.

Julie Venn-Morton, HS2’s Skills Manager for the West Midlands said: “HS2’s arrival is spearheading a jobs and skills revolution across the region.”

She continued: “BBV is not only seeking to recruit local talent but also investing in delivering training and support packages to provide local people with the skills they need to secure a long and meaningful career in the sector.”

For registering BBV’s jobs exhibition, you can call the National Careers Service on 0800 100 900 and quote ‘Jobs in Construction’.
