New Colombian highways are going to be constructed

Colombia’s transport network is set to take advantage of the opening and completion of essential road projects during 2022.

Somewhat, the work on Colombia‘s key 181km Autopista al Mar 1 project is running ahead of schedule. The highway upgrade project features totally the building of 39 bridges, plus tunnel excavation, with the US$508.6 million work being done by the contractors STRABAG, Concay and Sacyr.

Simultaneously, the $492.2 million 254km Autopista al Mar 2 project needs the creation of 62 bridges and 12 tunnel stretches. The concession company, Autopistas Uraba that was awarded the contract is managing this work. The concession firm was founded for this project and includes China Harbour Engineering Company, China Harbour Concessions Company, SP Ingenieros, Unidad de Infraestructura y Construcciones Asociadas, and Termotecnica Coindustrial.

In is worth to mention that a part of this route is already in use.
