Delegates can register at early-bird rates until January 15, 2027. Meanwhile, the organising committee reports strong demand for exhibition space, with only a limited number of places remaining.
WTC2027 Programme and Key Dates
According to the draft programme, the ITA General Assembly will take place on April 25, followed by the conference opening ceremony on April 26. The programme will also feature the Muir Wood Lecture, to be delivered by Eivind Grøv.
The congress banquet is scheduled for April 28, while technical tours will take place on April 29.
Technical Tours to Showcase Major Tunnel Projects
The technical tour programme is expected to include several significant underground infrastructure sites in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Planned visits include the Oosterweel Connection’s immersed and cut-and-cover tunnels, the HADES Research Centre and the Westerscheldetunnel in the Netherlands, described by the organisers as Europe’s longest bored road tunnel in soft soil.
Paper Submission Deadline Extended
The deadline for technical paper submissions has been extended to October 25, 2026, with successful applicants expected to be notified in December.
WTC2027 will bring together tunnelling professionals, researchers, contractors, engineers and industry representatives to discuss underground construction, innovation and the role of tunnelling in meeting societal needs.
