Maryland-based Bradshaw specialises in microtunnelling, including hard-rock drives, pipe jacking and associated underground construction. The company owns and operates its own fleet of tunnelling and heavy construction equipment covering a range of diameters used in the North American market.
Founded 60 years ago and headquartered in Eldersburg, Bradshaw employs around 50 people and generates annual revenue of approximately US$30M. Its operations extend across the eastern US, from Florida to Maine, as well as westwards to states including Colorado and Texas.
VINCI said the acquisition will expand Soletanche Bachy’s capabilities and geographical footprint in the US, where it already operates through Nicholson Construction, Hub Foundation, Bessac Inc. and Soletanche Bachy International Inc.
Bradshaw brings particular expertise in microtunnelling through hard rock and provides a range of trenchless construction techniques using pipe jacking and different tunnel support systems.
The company will now have access to Soletanche Bachy’s wider engineering, equipment design and R&D capabilities, as well as the group’s EXEGY low-carbon construction materials.
For Soletanche Bachy, the deal adds an established specialist tunnelling contractor and equipment fleet to its existing US geotechnical and underground construction operations.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
