In order to advancing South Australia’s River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project, the third and final TBM for has completed its Factory Acceptance Test.
Providing a non-stop South Road for the people of South Australia, these three TBMs with more than 100m long, are going to be used to construct the twin 4.5km Southern Tunnels and twin 2.2km Northern Tunnels.
October last year was the date of arrival of the components for the first TBM in Adelaide.
While the project’s Southern Precinct in Clovelly Park is the location of launching two of the TBMs, the third is set to commission from the Central North Precinct at Richmond, making the T2D Project an Australian first for three TBMs operating at the same time.
The T2D Alliance of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia is delivering the project on behalf of the South Australian and Australian governments.
