In order to advancing the Elephant & Castle Station capacity upgrade Transport for London (TfL) plans aims to issue the contract notice on March 29.
Publishing a periodic indicative notice to raise market awareness of the upcoming procurement for stage one of the project, TfL is due to hold an industry day on March 17 and plans to commence the formal procurement process on March 29 with the issue of the contract notice.
The determined deadline for submitting the expression of interest and attendance in this industry day via the SAP Ariba Portal is midday on March 10.
In order to delivering step-free access and capacity improvement across the London Underground network, Elephant & Castle Station Capacity Upgrade is a key element of the London Mayor’s 2018 Transport Strategy.
The intended two stages of this project will be: stage one is early enabling and civils construction; stage two is fitout/bringing into use, while a single supplier is going to be searched by TfL to deliver stage one.
Including the associated enabling works and construction of sections of the new station box temporarily omitted (by the developer from the construction of the new station box) to facilitate the tunneling works, the project comprises the design and construction of new linking passenger tunnels between the new station box and the existing London Underground station,
Also, there are additional options in the contract to instruct the design and delivery of localized premises and MEP works to implement the temporary condition at the interface between the new tunnels and the existing station.
