With attendance of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, opening ceremony of Kagithane-Istanbul Airport Metro was done. Being described as the project of the firsts and most’s the Kağıthane-Eyüp-Istanbul Airport Metro, have been brought to Istanbul and the government are going to continue their work and service feasts in 20, as they did in the last 2023 years.

Emphasizing of that 2023 will be a year worthy of the 100th anniversary of the Republic and the Century of Turkey, where they have completed and put into service very important projects, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said:” Until today, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, there are works of art both in Istanbul and all over Turkey and we were storming the service. We will continue this determination in 2023 and will decisively complete the infrastructure of all services that will put our country among the world’s largest economies. As a ministry that works with 5 thousand colleagues at 700 thousand construction sites and service points in every corner of our country to carry our nation to a bright future, we pave the way for the future of Turkey with our projects. We are paving the way for Turkey’s prosperity.”

Underlining that they made a strong start to the new century of the Republic, Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“We are bringing the Kağıthane-Eyüp-Istanbul Airport Metro, which we define as the project of the firsts and the ‘most’s, which is a unique work of our engineering, to Istanbul. We are bringing together a giant piece of work and a magnificent service with Istanbul. We improve the quality of life of Istanbul residents. Our 34-kilometer-long metro line has the capacity to serve 800 thousand passengers per day. Our metro line; Thanks to the integration of the Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey Metro Line, which we completed and brought to Istanbul in 2019 under your leadership, at the Kağıthane station, it becomes possible to reach all rail systems directly, safely, quickly and economically. Thanks to our line, to Istanbul Airport, the world’s largest and most important global transfer center; It can be reached in 24 minutes from Kağıthane, 12 minutes from Göktürk, 45 minutes from Esenler, 38 minutes from Taksim, 28 minutes from Zincirlikuyu and 4 minutes from 35th Levent. Access to our country’s door to the world has become easy and comfortable in such a short time. Providing this comfort, realizing one of the most valuable projects of Turkey and Istanbul, has been blessed by the AK Party staff who work with the love of serving their nation, as in the last 20 years.”

Serving the nation, the environment and the country’s economy with the contributions, the intended line is a unique project in terms of engineering and design, as well as a magnificent work for Istanbul.

According to Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu: “It will inspire new breakthroughs both in our country and in the world. We are inaugurating Turkey’s longest metro, which was tendered and built in one go. In order for our line to be put into service as soon as possible, we used 10 tunnel boring machines simultaneously in a metro project for the first time in the world. 24 thousand of our colleagues worked in the construction of the metro line. We broke excavation records with 65,5 meters per day. Turkey’s fastest metro vehicles with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour will also be used on this line.”

Also the signaling system, which was invented with domestic and national facilities for the first time, with the support of the Ministry and cooperation with Aselsan TÜBİTAK, is benefited in this metro line. “Now, from the construction phase of our metro lines to the electrification and signaling phase, every process is the product of our own engineering; We are completing it locally and nationally,” Karaismailoğlu said, adding that they have commissioned the new train sets with the first domestic metro vehicle engine here. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “From now on, we will complete our other metro investments in Istanbul and increase Istanbul’s rail system network, which is 284,3 kilometers, to 380,2 kilometers. As in the last 20 years, our art and service feasts will continue in 2023. We say don’t stop, keep going,” Karaismailoğlu said.
