Launching the Third TBM on Indian RRTS

Indian Regional Rapid Transport System Map

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut regional rapid transport system hosted the third TBM.

While two Terratec EPBMs have been driving on the construction of the 3km tunnel runs from the Anand Vihar RRTS station to New Ashok Nagar station since March, the third one is due to dig the 2km tunnel from Anand Vihar towards Sahibabad.

In order to excavate the southern stretch of the 6.5m diameter twin-tunnel network, four TBMs will be launched from Anand Vihar station.

Comprising of 25 stations, two depots as well as one stabling yard, the 82km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS is going to provide a high-speed, high-capacity commuter service and it is planned to be completed in 2025.
