Beka Tunnel (T2), Starting of the Excavation of the Second Longest Tunnel

The digging process of the main pipe of the Beka tunnel (T2) in Koper by contractors has been commenced. The determined length for the tunnel tube of the second-longest tunnel on the second track of the Divača – Koper railway line is due to be more than 6 kilometers. While work will also begin on the excavation of the service pipe in full profile in future weeks, on the northern side of the tunnel, in the Glinščica valley, preparatory work for construction is undergoing.

The intended path is going to continue on the Koper side along the Beka tunnel and the 200-meter plateau along the Gabrovica viaduct, which is already under construction, and in a series of shorter tunnels along the slope of Tinjanski hrib.
