Underground controlled blasting at Roma Street

Commencing the third week of November (15/11/2021_Monday) the beneath ground controlled blasting at the Roma Street construction site is due to be done. While this process will occur underground within the cavern, it is scheduled to send an SMS alert almost four hours prior to affirm timing of each controlled blast.

In order to register for receiving SMS alerts, you should send your name, phone number and home address by email to crossriverrail@cbgujv.com.au or by text to 0419 679 314.

Probable expectations:

  • Hearing a siren sound near the blasting area five minutes former to the blast
  • Inhabitants and businesses within about 200 meters of the blasting area may hear and feel the controlled blast. The sound is similar to rumbling thunder and some slight vibration may be felt
  • There will be no change in normal operation time schedule of Roma Street train and bus station, unless announced otherwise.
