BBMV JV has Completed Crossrail Station in East London

The BBMV JV comprising from Balfour Beatty, Morgan Sindall, and VINCI Construction has handed over the lasted completed Crossrail station at Whitechapel in east London.

Now, the contractor has handed over the site to London Underground with Crossrail set to start in the first half of next year.

BBMV Project Director, Steve O’Sullivan stated: “As I reflect on this incredible feat of engineering, I have never been prouder of what our incredible team has delivered. It truly is testament to the collaborative culture of our joint venture, who have persevered throughout the challenges faced by the global COVID-19 pandemic.”

He also asserted: “We now look forward to watching as the station plays a role in transforming travel across London, whilst also supporting wider regeneration in the local area through job creation and opportunities for local businesses.”

Up to this point, the stations that have transferred from Crossrail to TfL are Custom House, Farringdon, Tottenham Court Road, Woolwich, Liverpool Street, Paddington, and Whitechapel.

The next station which is going to be transferred to TfL later this year, is Canary Wharf.
