The new significant achievement has been attained by the Fegino construction among the Voltri interconnection tunnel, which is called the “odd-numbered” track, and a large structure in the already completed Valico tunnel. In December 2020 the “even-numbered track” was finished and currently, the new milestone almost completes the connection. Now around 68% of the whole construction and excavation process of the Terzo Valico dei Giovi have been completed.
The Port of Voltri and the Genoa Juncture (Nodo di Genova) Fegino, which are two junctions that are due to allow a decrease of the road freight transport times from the Mediterranean and will also have subsequent benefits in terms of CO2 reduction, are going to link with the assist of this construction site.
