Snowy 2.0 project TBM factory test celebrated in Australia

Snowy Hydro Ltd., a provider of renewable energy in a joint venture with Future Generation (commissioned by Webuild, previously known as Salini Impregilo), will embark on the snowy 2.0 project by the end of the year. The TBM to be used in Australia is assembled, factory tested by Herrenknecht in Germany, and shipped to the Snowy Mountains shortly.

The Snowy 2.0 project will enhance the Scheme’s hydro-electric generation and storage capacity through the development of multiple hydropower stations.

At 205 meters long and 11 meters in diameter, the TBM will excavate 27Km tunnels and a station on an incline, linking two dams Tantangara and Talbingo.
