Papers open for the second PIARC International Conference on Road Tunnel Operations and Safety!

ATC (the Spanish National Committee) and PIARC are going to organize the 2nd International Conference on Tunnels and the VIII Spanish Symposium in the new Granada Conference & Exhibition Centre (Granada, Spain) together from 25-28 October 2022.

The themes which experts can present their technical communications is as follow:

  • ITS systems and their contribution to improved operations
  • Resilience in road tunnels​
  • New vehicle propulsion energies and their impact on tunnels
  • Management of urban and high traffic road tunnels​
  • Risk Analysis
  • Emergency management
  • Adaptation to the regulations
  • Ventilation and Lighting

Those experts who are interested in the mentioned themes, need to provide a summary of the text to the Conference Secretariat before 18th July 2021 by clicking here . The abstracts should be submitted on the official website of the event.

Abstracts can be submitted in any of the official languages that are Spanish, English and French. This abstract must have a max. length of 300 words.

All papers must be original work available to be published for publication. The papers should present case studies, research results and/or practical experience related to the topics of this announcement.

The abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by PIARC Technical Committees and decisions will be notified to the authors by 5th October 2021. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper by 22th May 2022.

These will be reviewed by PIARC Technical Committees and decisions regarding publication and requests for amendments will be notified to the authors before 20th June 2022. Publication of the accepted papers is subject to the registration of at least of one of the co-authors to the Congress.  You can visit here.
