Getting ready for controlled blasting at Lot 1

This past week, the Cross River Rail’s team have been preparing to carry out the next series of controlled blasting in Lot 1.

Next week, there might be up to two controlled blasts at this worksite.

Upcoming night work

The team will carry out construction activities throughout the week from Monday 20 September to Sunday 26 September 2021.

you can refer to Work Notices on the Cross River Rail website for further information on construction activities within the standard construction hours of 6:30am to 6:30pm (scroll to bottom of page).

Lot 2 tunneling and tunneling support activities continue 24/7 in the acoustic shed.

* Local streets contain Albert Street, between Alice and Queen streets, comprising near the intersections at Alice, Margaret, Mary, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Adelaide and Ann streets.

Proposed changes to equipment and spoil haulage

Cross River Rail proposes that in the event a COVID19 public health direction is announced for the Brisbane local government area or Brisbane central business district, the morning and afternoon peak haulage restrictions are relaxed at Albert Street work sites.

Construction of the Cross River Rail project is bound by the project’s conditions of approval. Some activities will be completed out of normal construction hours due to traffic permits, safety requirements and construction methodology.
