Bramble, the first mini TBM for HS2

HS2 Staff Talking to Children

The site at Wormwood Scrubs is where HS2 will relocate the Stamford Brook Sewer and a few utility administrations presently running under Old Oak Common Lane. This should be done to develop the new super-hub station at Old Oak Common. Two mini TBMs will be utilized to make 9 micro tunnels for the utilities and sewer. HS2 will actually be able to lower and extend the street sometime in the not too distant future, to allow double-decker buses to run under rail Line Bridge.

During their visit to the worksite, pupils from a year 3 class at Old Oak Primary School were welcomed to name the first TBM and picked the name ‘Bramble’.

‘Bramble ‘ is the first of the two small HS2 TBMs to be launched from the site in Wormwood Scrubs in West London toward the finish of April, as the Balfour Beatty, VINCI, Systra joint endeavor (BBVS JV) keeps on building the new station at Old Oak Common. The machines will run 24 hours per day until August. For further information visit their website.
