In the ceremony, in which the citizens showed great interest, respectively; İmamoğlu, Davutoğlu, Akşener and Kılıçdaroğlu each made speeches. Passing through 4 districts, with a length of 14,3 km and 13 stations, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) completed the construction of the Dudullu-Bostancı metro line.
Indicating to the successful opening of the 150th service, the Dudullu-Bostancı metro line, to the use of citizens, İmamoğlu thanked his colleagues and contractor companies and said: “There is an exam that the metropolitan mayors who rule not only our country, but also the largest city of Europe, Istanbul, must pass. The most challenging exam of IMM presidents is the subway exam. Because, as in all major cities in the world, rail systems are the most basic, most urgent and permanent solution to Istanbul’s transportation problems. Metro; It is the dominant issue of civilization and civilized cities. Unfortunately, many of the world’s leading cities have outstripped Istanbul in this race many years ago. That’s why, as soon as I took office, we accepted the construction of the metro as a matter of honor and main service for Istanbul.”
He also added: “That is why we have devoted at least half of our energy and focus to rail system construction for 3,5 years. Of course, when my term of office is over, the people of Istanbul will also issue my report card about the metro. When that day comes, me and my team want to be remembered as the managers who bleached Istanbul’s face in the construction of the metro. We want to make history. We want to be remembered well; We want to leave a nice sound in that sky dome. That is why this valuable opening we have realized is very important. In 3,5 years, including today’s opening, the length of the metro line we brought to Istanbul reached 46.2 kilometers. More production continues. We did not do all of these 46 kilometers from A to Z. But this 46-kilometer line could not be opened if we did not come to the task, it would have turned into constructions that are still standing. It is very clear and precise.”
