Working process at the new Pitt Street Station’s two platforms, which are located 20 meters beneath the heart of the Sydney CBD, is advancing well.
In order to locate into their place, the platforms that are manufactured from 681 precast concrete sections have been delivered at two underground caverns.
For constructing the railway tracks, required concrete slabs have been poured beforehand of sleeper and track installation, while over 56,000 tons of concrete are due to be poured to build the underground station and this number is sufficient to fill 16 Olympic swimming pools.
Delivering process of the materials, is undergoing using three tower cranes at the station site.
Advance of the Pitt Street North and South sites is going on the basement levels, although integrated station developments are being delivered at these sites.
