
With the aim of advancing Singapore’s Cross Island Line (CRL), Samsung C&T Corporation has commissioned the TBM for the CR112 contract.
As Samsung C&T’s 20th TBM operation, TBM Artemis with a 7.28m diameter, will be launched and dug a 1.79km-long tunnel.
In March 2021, the CR112 design and construction contract was granted by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority awarded the company and in addition to the tunnel, the contract includes the design and construction of Hougang interchange station, as well as addition and alteration works to the existing Hougang station along the North East Line.
The responsibility of launching the TBM for the CR116 section was done by a consortium of Gammon Construction Ltd, Bachy Soletanche Singapore and Bessac during the last week.
Linking the future Teck Ghee and Ang Mo Kio interchange stations, construction of Ang Mo Kio interchange station and twin bored tunnels with a total length of 1.2km are the contents of CR116.
