Andrea Pigorini elected as ITA president

At the ITA’s 51st General Assembly, held in conjunction with the WTC2025 which took place in Stockholm this week, Andrea Pigorini, head of infrastructure engineering at Italferr SpA, has been elected as president of the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association.

While Pigorini succeeds Arnold Dix who was elected to the post in 2022, on LinkedIn the ITA gave a heartfelt thank you to Arnold Dix for his outstanding leadership and dedication over the past three years.

“It’s been a fantastic journey with you at the helm,” the ITA said.

Also at the General Assembly, Singapore was selected as the host for the World Tunnel Congress 2028. Next year’s event will be held in Montreal, Canada.
