Grand Paris Express, Breakthrough for TBM Koumba

Since June 2019, TBM Koumba started tunneling a 32km southern section from Morangis depot to Pont de Rungis station.

The proposed TBM will excavate a 4Km tunnel extension of the line 14 south as a part of the Grand Paris Express project. A short pause will halt the excavation so that the tunnel boring machine could undergo a full overhaul to continue operation towards Aeroport d’Orly, its final destination, and complete its remaining 800Km drive.

After the second launch, the machine will move southeast under Air France establishments, where it will possibly cross Line 7’s Villejuif branch.
