2TDK, a State-owned project business, has signed a €203.8 million deal with a consortium for building rail and tunnel systems on Slovenia’s Divaca-Koper line.
The agreement is part of a scheme to construct a second track on the principal transportation artery close to the country’s Adriatic coast.
Slovenske Zeleznice-Zeleznisko gradbeno podjeno, the local firm, is leading the consortium on the project, which comprises Kolektor IGIN, GH Holding, and YM Construction.
The construction team will provide track and track-related equipment and obtain rolling stock for the project.
In addition, it will install telecommunications and security systems and deploy hardware, the electrical infrastructure, and the power supply.
The work is a part of Lot 3 of the Divaca-Koper project and is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025.
Furthermore, the scope of the contract contains the ongoing maintenance of the installed devices and the safe operation of the line, comprising rescue operations in case of accidents.
Regarding the more expansive project, the Slovenian government recently modified its investment calculation for the remaining works from €940 million to €1.03 billion.
