Considering that in the current week Prufrock-1 had reached the Westgate Resort and Prufrock-2 had arrived at the Encore Resort, the Boring Company (TBC) has reached two landmarks on the Vegas Loop.
While it took only 10 weeks for Prufrock-2 to complete the 716m tunnel between its launch to retrieval, more than 10 weeks was required just to commission Godot, the TBM that constructed the Las Vegas Convention Centre Loop.
The loops provide passenger transport in Tesla electric cars.
TBC’s plans for developing the Vegas Loop from the Las Vegas Strip corridor, was approved by Clark County in May, whereas this 40km expansion will include 18 new stations.
As remarkable milestones for the tunneling company’s Vegas Loop project, arrival of Prufrock-1 at Westgate and Prufrock-2 at Encore indicate important breakthroughs. The scheduled date by TBC for inauguration of the Westgate station of the Vegas Loop is by the summer, while Vegas Loop station is going to be linked to the Las Vegas Convention Center via the LVCC Loop. Location of the Westgate station will be at the Riviera station located at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s West Hall parking lot.
Also, in order to expanding the Vegas Loop’s route, Elon Musk’s tunneling company recently received approval from the Las Vegas planning commission.
“It’s going to change the way that we travel up and down the boulevard and hopefully to the airport and to Allegiant Stadium and everything else. I love that we have the connectivity and downtown and the Medical District and everything,” said Commissioner Trinity Haven Schlottman.
