Opening Tenders for Bullet Train Station in India

The enthusiasm for the design and construction of the Bandra Kurla Complex high-speed rail station in Mumbai, has been invited for tender that India’s National High-Speed Rail Corporation has issued (NHSRCL).

As the only underground station on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) is due to link Mumbai with India’s seventh largest city to the north in Gujarat.

C1 Package tender comprises a 467m cut and cover tunnel, a 66m ventilation shaft, and BKC Station. Additionally, the shaft will be used for the TBM retrieval.

Underground Station Design

While the station is going to have six platforms, each almost 415m long and 24m beneath ground level, it will have three floors – platform, concourse, and service floor – and connections to the metro.

Accommodating India’s first bullet trains, the 508km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor will feature 12 stations, and trains will travel at speeds up to 320km.
