Launching tender for Dublin’s MetroLink delivery partner

The process of inviting prospective bidders to tender for the Programme Delivery Partner (PDP) Support Services Contract for Dublin’s MetroLink has been commenced by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

Following market engagement events throughout Europe, the government’s €2bn allocation of €2bn from the Infrastructure, Climate and Nature fund, as well as the project’s inclusion in the National Development Plan 2025, procuring the PDP will be done.

With the aim of providing expert guidance and insight into key areas in the project’s delivery, the PDP will play a vital role in the wider MetroLink organisation, led by TII and in collaboration with existing partners and contractors, which is crucial in ensuring that all aspects of the MetroLink project are delivered within a defined budget, required timeframe, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

MetroLink program director Dr Seán Sweeney welcomed the key development and said: “We are committed to working collaboratively with the industry to ensure that we harness the best expertise, innovation, and value from the market. The PDP represents an incredible opportunity for suppliers to join MetroLink and be part of this historic and truly nation-building project for Ireland.”

TII intends to engage with the successful tenderer for Programme Delivery Partner Services for approximately 12 years.

Linking Swords to Charlemont via Dublin Airport and the city centre, MetroLink extends almost 19km and is Ireland’s first fully automated, high-capacity metro system.

The responsibility of delivering MetroLink is up to Transport Infrastructure Ireland in partnership with the National Transport Authority.Once receiving the Railway Order,construction set to take around nine years.
