Significant Advancement in Ionian Mega Lot 3

As the latest landmark the breakthrough of the 1,200m-long south barrel diaphragm on the Roseto 1 Tunnel on the Ionian highway in southern Italy was done and work is progressing.

Behalf of Italy’s state road agency, ANAS,which is a part of the infrastructure division of FS Italiane Group, Webuild has now completed 57% of the Mega Lot 3 contract. It commenced works on the Calabria section of the Ionian highway in May 2020.

Including 10km of tunnels, which are three rock tunnels and 11 cut and cover tunnels, and 7km of viaducts, Mega Lot 3 covers a 38km section of the Ionian highway. The section is due to contribute to linking the Ionian coasts of Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia.
