Winner of Italian Water Works is Ghella-Led Joint Venture

In order to advancing two of three lots for the design and execution of the works for the Campolattaro Dam on the River Tammaro, in Campania, Italy, Ghella, in joint venture with TunnelPro, Itinera, RDR and IdroAmbiente, have received the contract with almost €410m (£357m) value.

Improving drinking water supply for over than 2.5 million people as well as providing irrigation for about 15,000ha of agricultural land, will be the aims of this project, which is part of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

With around €277m value the first lot is going to include a 7.5km bored diversion tunnel, the construction of a drinking water treatment plant and a 30,000m3 reservoir, while construction of a potable supply line and the strengthening and integration of aqueducts, are the subsets of second lot with approximately €133m contract budget.
