Grand Paris Express – Final Breakthrough for TBM Armelle

On Line 16 for Grand Paris Express, TBM Armelle has attained its final destination at the Hugo manufact at Ville du Blanc-Mesnil. Completing its 3.3 km journey, this machine launched from the Braque shaft in Aulnay-Sous-Bois.

Diverse and sometimes complex geology was on the path of this TBM, which has been named after Armelle Martin who saved a mother and her three children from a fire. Currently the tunneling works for first section of Line 16 from Saint-Denis to Ville d’Aulnay-sous-Bois is complete.
