CRCHI TBMs ready for South Korea power infrastructure project

In order to advancing the South Korea’s Gyeonggi power cable project, two CRCHI slurry TBMs rolled off the production line on November 24, whereas the intention of this project is to meet the growing demand for electricity in the Seoul metropolitan area.

CRCHI is suppling six TBMs, making it the largest equipment supplier for the project.

Considering the tunnel alignment that is going to traverse high-strength hard rock formations, fault zones and weathered rock areas, the engineering challenges include long tunneling distances, high rock strength, high water pressure, and small turning radius.
