Work Starts in Denmark on the Nordvahn Tunnel

Per Aarsleff A/S, the construction contractor leads a 5 to 6 months ground and water investigation where an underground tunnel 1.4km in length will be joining Nordvahn and the other districts of Østerbro, Copenhagen.

This project holds a strategic significance as “Nordhavnsvej” is the first stage of further infrastructure expansion of Nordhavn, an old industrial port, into a modern urban area.

Before entering the operational and construction phases, a substitute port will be constructed ahead to support the current transportation flow.
As the primary evaluation and planning of the $500 million water crossing progress, the project is estimated to take seven years to complete.
