With the aim of strengthening professional ties in the Canadian tunnelling community, the Tunneling Association of Canada (TAC) has launched a pilot mentorship program.
Providing a structured platform for TAC members to connect, share knowledge, and support one another’s professional development, this initiative is open to students, early-career professionals, and seasoned industry leaders.
The programme’s core goals include:
- enhancing member connections across the TAC network
- providing accessible career guidance and support
- promoting diversity and inclusion in the industry
- cultivating a collaborative and supportive professional environment
This platform that is due to match mentors and mentees based on shared interests and areas of expertise, enabling focused and personalised conversations, is supported by PDL Mentoring. The pilot phase will run for one year, during which TAC will evaluate participation, feedback, and overall impact to determine the program’s direction.
As TAC emphasises, the intention of designing this program is to support career development and should not be considered a source of technical training or mentorship.
TAC says: “Participants will benefit in different ways. Mentors will have the opportunity to give back to the tunneling community by sharing their experience and helping to shape the next generation of professionals. Mentees will gain valuable career insight, expand their networks, and learn directly from seasoned experts.”
On August 13 from 12:00-13:00 (EST), TAC is going to host a webinar for introducing the program. The session, led by PDL Mentoring, will explain through the registration process and how the matching platform works. To register, click here.
