The project management contract of constructing the international station at Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne at the French entrance to the future 57·5 km base tunnel under Mont Cenis on the planned new line connecting Lyon and Torino, is won by a consortium of Systra, WSP and Richez_Associés.
The narrow valley, integration of the project into the local area, minimizing construction noise, and ensuring continuity of traffic on the existing Culoz – Modane line, are the faced challenges as the consortium stated.
