The 28 of February 2023, is determined as deadline for registering in Early bird for the 10th International Symposium on Tunnel Safety and Security (ISTSS).
Stavanger in Norway will host ISTSS 2023 from April 26-28, while this event is offering early bird prices for participants and speakers attending all three days, or a one-day pass.
Moreover, there are discounts for groups of five or more from one company, as well as an early bird offer for a whole week pass for ISTSS and the fires in vehicles conference, FIVE, which runs from April 24-25.
While Swedish research institute RISE, is due to host the two conferences, at ISTSS speakers from around the world will explore tunnel safety under the areas of alternative fuel vehicles, digitization, risk management, explosions, ventilation, fixed firefighting systems, tenability and evacuation, emergency management, safety management, and fire dynamics.
Speaking about the battery vehicle fires in open and confined spaces, Petra Andersson, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden is slated to inaugurate the ISTSS, whereas Vladimir Molkov, Ulster University, will indicate to hydrogen vehicle safety in underground traffic infrastructure: overview of HyTunnel-CS findings.
Also an overview of safety concept for Swedish road tunnels, by Ulf Lundström, Swedish Transport Administration, and human behavior during fires in tunnels, by Gunnar Jenssen, SINTEF, Norway, will be the contents of day two’s keynote session.
The final day’s keynote session will comprise Ove Njå, University of Stavanger, on why is the tunnel fire safety competence situation so fragmented? The need for a tunnel safety study program; and Mirjam Nelisse, TNO, the Netherlands, addressing risk analysis of fire and explosions in tunnels.
