Concluding agreement for Eglinton Crosstown West Extension stations, rail and systems

In order to delivering the stations, rail and systems package for Toronto’s Eglinton Crosstown West Extension, Trillium Rail Partners has been selected by Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx.

The 9.2-km extension includes seven new stations, four of which are underground.

While the construction work will be up to Trillium Rail Partners, comprising Acciona (40%), Amico (30%) and Alberici (30%), WSP is going to provide the design. Trillium Rail Partners is also slated to integrate the railway’s operating and control systems, in addition to signalling, communications, and data networks.

For linkng the ECWE with future Line 5 Eglinton LRT service, this contract also includes works at the existing Mount Dennis Station.

As part of a progressive design-build procurement model, this team has signed a Development and Master Construction Agreement with Metrolinx, marking the start of the development phase.
