Sydney Metro – Conclude of Final Contract for Crows Nest Over Station Development

Crows Nest Station Location

While the local economy set to benefit from new housing and job opportunities, Sydney Metro has granted the contract for the final piece in the puzzle for the new metro station at Crows Nest.

Including a 21-storey commercial office building on the corner of Pacific Highway, Hume Street and Oxley Street, and 17-storey residential building on the corner of Pacific Highway and Hume Street above the station, the contract for the air rights above Crows Nest Station has been handed to Thirdi Group.

The new buildings will capitalize on easy access to the new Crows Nest Station, providing new jobs in the area, a range of new housing options and easy access to two major hospitals.

In order to refining the buildings above the Station, with community feedback helping to decrease the building height, rushing the number of car spaces and change the building use to increase local employment opportunities, since 2017 Sydney Metro has been working with the community.

The chance to present feedback will be provided for community again when Thirdi Group exhibits the detailed Stage 2 development application prior to starting construction.

Following its completion, there will be three new buildings above Crows Nest Station. A W Edwards, the Crows Nest Station contractor, is delivering a nine-storey commercial office building on the corner of Hume Street and Clarke Street.

The determined date for inauguration of Crows Nest Station is 2024, whereas it is due to provide fast and direct access of local community to the Sydney CBD, with a trip to Martin Place taking only seven minutes.
