Eiffage Secures €2.54 Billion Contract for Grand Paris Express Line 15 East Section

Grand Paris Express Line 15 Station Design

Eiffage, the French construction company, has received a €2.54 billion contract to design and build a section of line 15 East of the multi-billion-Euro Grand Paris Express project.

Eiffage Génie Civil, Eiffage’s subsidiary, is claimed to work in consortium with eight architectural companies to design and build the section of line between Bobigny-Pablo Picasso and Champigny Centre stations in the eastern part of the French capital.

The contract contains boring 17km of tunnel, constructing 15 related rail structures and two entrance structures, laying railway tracks and path facilities, plus high and low-voltage systems and electromechanical equipment (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, smoke extraction, and fire safety) in the stations, tunnel, and related rail structures.

The consortium comprises Ar.thème Associés, Architecturestudio, fbcc, LA/BA, BIG-Silvio D’ASCIA Architecture consortium, VIGUIER, and Wilmotte & Associés.

In addition, together, they will be responsible for building six new stations: Bobigny – Pablo Picasso, Pont de Bondy, Bondy, Rosny Bois-Perrier, Val de Fontenay, and Nogent – Le Perreux.

Moreover, the consortium will lead development works of the part of Champigny Centre station committed to line 15 East, plus building an operations center in Rosny-sous-Bois and two property development projects in Bondy and Le Perreux.

Nevertheless, construction will involve low-carbon concrete usage and fiber-reinforced concrete segments’ installation to cut carbon emissions. Meanwhile, the landscaping of 15 hectares of green space has been submitted over the entire project as well.

However, work will begin after a 15-month design phase with a view to handover in 2031 for its commissioning.

It is worth mentioning that Eiffage has won 35 contracts for the Grand Paris Express construction so far.
