Further expressway development works are now being done in China as the country’s transport infrastructure development works continue.

Programs are in hand for a new 122.4km expressway that will enhance transport between Jiangxi Province and Zhejiang Province which is predicted to be worth US$4.8 billion. The path will link Ningbo, Jinhua, Quzhou and Shangrao.

The $2.18 billion Golden Drum Expressway project will deliver an 80km connection linking Tongcheng and Tonggu in Jiangxi Province. The construction work is anticipated to take four years to complete and will comprise tolling facilities, 13 dual tube tunnel stretches, on and off-ramps, parking facilities and two service areas.

Two significant projects will improve transport links in Hubei Province. Work is ongoing for a 44km stretch of the new route connecting Wuhan and Chongqing.

As reported, constructing this section will cost $1.34 billion, and it will feature six lanes in either direction. The contract for an extension to the expressway connecting Qiaokou and Xiaogan has been granted to China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co. which building this 54km section will cost $1.89 billion.

The tender procedure is now underway for the Deyang ring road project in Sichuan Province. The scheduled alignment for the expressway stretches 61km, and the project is anticipated to cost $2.43 billion to construct.

Tendering is underway in Hainan Province for advancements to a section of the Hainan Ring Expressway. The stretch between Haikou and Boao is to be expanded and enhanced. The work is anticipated to be worth $2.1 billion. The Hainan Province Transportation Department will manage the project.

A new bridge in the port city of Quanzhou in Fujian Province will assist in congestion reduction. The new Jinyu Bridge and its linking roads are estimated 4.5km, and the work contains constructing interchanges at either end, while the project is located in the Taishang Investment Area.

The $306 million road expansion work will be done in Shijiazhuang in Hebei province. A consortium that comprises CCCC Second Highway Engineering (CCCC Second), Shijiazhuang Road and Bridge Construction Group (Shijiazhuang Road) and Shaanxi Jitong Road and Bridge Construction will handle the work. The plan is said to be the second phase of transport infrastructure work for Shijiazhuang. As part of this project, new fundamental roads, bridges, secondary roads and parking areas will be constructed.

Now, work is underway on an essential stretch for the China National Highway 110 route in Inner Mongolia. It costs $494.3 million and will connect Bikeqi and Xieliqi.
